rewriting the URL
It is kind of ugly to have a URL which is a generated key. Havung a URL like friendpaste.com/andy_tech_ideas would be much nicer because otherwise I have to remember this key ... wooo - if I have more pastes my brain will not be able to handle that ;-)

make a way to login and manage all of your scripts
It would be nice to be able to see/manage a list of scripts you have added. I have had repost scripts because I lost the link several times now.

Pretty printing
It would be quite interesting not to depend on the browser to produce a quality printable document out of the already prettified and syntax highlighted code.

give pastes an expiration date of a day or so
instead of a delete code, just let the system clean itself out and my worries too

Really Short URLs
The ability to have really short URLs would be fantastic.
For example, friendp.com is available and having a URL like friendp.com/1xeFadH21l (shorten the hash from 22 characters to like 10)6 votes -

According ohloh, friendpaste is mostly written in javascript, asking myself why not making it in full javascript. ?

Offer highlighting themes
I've seen a lot of snippet sites, and I really like Friendpaste for its simplicity and unobtrusiveness, but I would really like the option to choose from a few themes. Specifically, I think at least one of those themes should use a monospaced font because, while I understand the readability of proportional fonts, some code is indented and spaced so that it looks right with a monospaced font. Consider, for example, http://classes.eclab.byu.edu/330/interpreters/inter15.scm. When I paste it into Friendpaste, it loses all of its alignment.

delete a comment
It would be cool to have the possibility to delete a comment. Sure - only by the owner. This would mean, that I have to set in the privacy settings also an owner name. This owner would be able to delete the comments.

fix the mysterious extra lines.
my scripts on friendpaste start on the first line and dont have blank lines at the end but when they are embedded on a page they have a few extra lines at the beginning and end of the script.

Add "Rich Text" as an option in the "Programming Language" select box in the main friendpaste screen.
